Elochukwu Agudosi spent three months at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona as a doctoral student in Chemical Engineering at the Malaysian-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), University of Technology Malaysia, in 2019. He is currently a Lecturer at Covenant University Ota in Nigeria, and a recipient of FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship to carry out research at the University of Concepción, Chile, South America.

He says:

“The Erasmus+ exchange opened doors of opportunity for me as a person and also as a researcher. I always leverage the massive opportunities that it offered me during my stay in Spain: international exposure, research collaboration, and engagement with industry partners. Moreover, the cultural ties, friendships, and social life that I enjoyed during the fellowship are some of the things to be cherished for life. I am grateful to the European Commission and A4U for the wonderful initiative.”

Academically, his stay with Erasmus gave him the opportunity to enrich his studies: “Overall, the experience was awesome. I worked with amazing people at Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Campus UAB Spain. In addition, I was privileged to participate in workshops and seminars involving the group’s international collaborators and industry partners. As a Nigerian, undertaking PhD studies in Asia and then coming to Europe for a research internship (Erasmus+ exchange) meant so much to me as I gained massive professional and academic experience. I CAN CONFIDENTLY say that my colleagues in Barcelona were very helpful and friendly.”
